I start up my computer after about 2 weeks of not turning it on. The fans run and everything appears to be working fine, however nothing appears on either of my two screens. Tried the hdmi on my mobo as well as my video card (I use HDMI for one of my screens and DVI on another). Neither one of them work. I check my MAXIMUS VI HERO motherboard and the small screen is flashing between AE and A2 which according to the internet are error codes. I think I may have a bad part. What do you guys think is wrong and how should I fix this?

Solution
Well error AE is legacy boot event and error A2 is IDE Detect so I would start with sata drives, HDD/SSD or cd/dvd drives. When I get home I can boot up my computer and see what codes come up on it while it boots.

Thanks, I will start testing my 3 SSD's and my DVD drive. Just to be clear, nothing loads on the screen AT ALL. Not even BIOS. Leads me to believe something is wrong with my motherboard? It lights up so its obviously not completely dead.

Unfortunately I have no other computer to test the SATA connections on. I have unplugged each of them and plugged them back in and no matter which one is unplugged I still get the same errors. When they are all unplugged it just freezes at the code 99.

Sorry for the spam replies ;p. I put in my windows 7 pro disk and a message comes up saying: Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next."
3. Click "Repair your computer."

At the bottom, it says:
Info: The Windows Boot Configuration Data file is missing required information.

I'm recovering windows right now. Thanks for your help. I will give you the solution since it seemed to work after I tested my SATA connections as you suggested.
