Hi, I've been wanting to get a new gpu for a while just not sure what would be the best choice or if i should wait for maybe new gpu's to come out ?

I was thinking the Gtx 970 and was wondering how well will this run games in a year or two ?

My Build is:
Cpu: I7 4790k
Ram: 8Gb
Psu: CS750M
Motherboard: Ga-z97x-gaming 3
Windows 8.1

Questions: What monitor/s are you using? What GPU is currently installed?
A single GTX970 is very, very good at 1080 res and very good at 1440 but the R9 290/290X is cheaper, at the cost of higher power consumption.
If you positively, absolutely have to kill every pixel on the screen: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-003-GX&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1812
HOWEVER, there's a lot going to happen in June, I'd hold off if you can, with Nvidia releasing the GTX980Ti and AMD finally letting loose some new silicon (Fiji, complete with HBM) I think even this price may drop a little, and your choices may improve.

The 970 is a great GPU and a rockstar at 1080p. The other choice would be an r9 290x if you wanted to check out team Red. If youre not on the cusp over needing a larger PSU, and havent bought into an nVidia ecosystem (i.e., PhysX, G-Sync)...I'd personally get the r9 290x:

I think it will prove more useful in coming years, as it wont suffer from the 3.5GB+.5GB memory partition issue much discussed (and perhaps unfairly) with the 970.

Wait for the new line of AMD cards to be released and then see what the prices look like. Either the new AMD cards are very good and you can grab one of them, or the current gpu's prices drop. I would say just wait it out a little bit. If you want a card right now, look to find a 290 or 290x for under $300 or grab a 970.
