I just bought r7 265 card a week ago
it used to be on idle 35 or 36 and gaming 60 or 65.
now when i boot my pc i find it 35 and when gaming 60 but when i finish gaming i leave the pc on idle for hours but the heat doesnt go down
can someone explain to me

well lest look at it maybe a beta driver issue first go back to a non-beta driver like the 14.12 ??

'' used msi afterburner and amd overdrive with no custom settings'' as far as these thing can go ???? I don't use them ..

I will assume at idle after it heated up and been sitting the fans are still spinning at least 20% fan speed ??

wel maybe like in gpu-z under its temp is got a drop down box and you can select how it logs the reading and on is record max temp so when the card reaches it it displays the highest temp even though the car its self has cool down to normal - so you did not by accident change that setting to display max temp only instead of current temp ??

I don't know ?? uninstall afterburner and amd driver and reboot back to the Microsoft default standard vga driver and see if it still gets hot idling [you won't be able to do anything demanding on them but monitor it that way and see ?? maybe use gpu-z for that for the time being ..[to monitor the card ]

if it looks to run normal that way then reinstall the amd driver back and re test ??

well if it works as normal with out that and the outher oc tools /programs just don't use them that's why I said above I don't .. now unless you did a bad oc like over volted something and damaged the memory or the gpu chip or something ?? that's all part of the risk when fiddling around with that ...

also them programs may not ''default'' things back to normal and have something hung up or corrupted in its file ??

I got a amd 7850 that did not oc well really not good at all - you win some you loose some but works just fins stock

well good luck

ps .. was the raptr from that AMD gaming elvolved included in the AMD driver ?? that's one thing I never install [crapware/spyware/jokeware] opinion.

and looks like adware as well ??

''AMD doesn't just foot the complete bill on their customized version of the Raptr client and have the ads removed entirely.''

like I said ''gimmickware''
