H55 corsair cpu fan error

i have a H55 attached tomy ASUS m9A97 and i have it connected into the cpu fan slot on the mobo and it says fan error when i plug in not on mobo it turns off each time..... i do not know why can anyone heklp me

"Read the instructions for the h55. Find where the fan and pump connectors are supposed to go. The plug them into your mobo that way. I think the fans go to the cpufan header and the block to another fan header. So I think you got them around the wrong way." something that someone else replied who had a similar problem, if it's still not working just send it back it's probably faulty
