I have the gigabyte 970a-ds3p and 2 sticks of 4g of corsair vengeance ram( cmz8gx3m2a1600c9b) and my display wont turn on. Is this because is not compatible with the mobo?
Can you list your other parts, like the GPU, cpu and PSU ? They are compatible, but if the RAM has problem, yes the PC will not boot and no display, because no display will be caused by other error too.

i have a gtx 960 fx 8150 coolermaster extreme 625 watt and a seagate hard drive
And you may try use the old GPU to boot the PC, using the DDU to uninstall all the GPU drivers, and switch the new GPU to boot. Also make sure you connect the 6-pin pcie power cable to the gtx960. If you still have problem, it maybe from the PSU or gtx960.
