What tests can I run to find out if my CPU is damaged?

My PC will not boot any more.
It is a dual OS PC (Linux Mint and Windows XP).
It will only boot in WinXP in safe mode.
It will also not boot from a USB disk with Mint or Ubuntu.

I have installed a USB disk with "Ultimate Boot CD", which allows me to run several tests.
Memory tests run for a long time and show no errors.
CPU tests do not really show errors, but stop. There is this test which calculates the pi digits. Sometimes it stops after the second digit, sometimes it goes on until seven digits, but this test never runs for a long time.
Can I conclude that my CPU is broken based on that test?

My PC (eMachines EL1600) has a Intel Atom Processor 230.
It runs on 220-240 Vac, 3A, 50Hz

Flashing the BIOS was a bit of a struggle, as I could not boot in anything but Win XP Safe Mode. And Safe mode does not let you execute many commands.
But I just managed to boot into FreeDos (provided by the Ultimate Boot CD) and installed the latest BIOS (R01-A2L).
Unfortunately did doesn't seem to make any difference (still cannot boot).
After that I loaded the optimized defaults. But again no luck.

Any other ideas?
How do interpret the (CPU) tests?
Or how can I determine if the CPU is damaged?
