the two Sunbeam Tech CC-FL UV tubes powered by one double output inverter lighting up the insides of my PC is not working. They worked for a short time but then wouldn't turn on. I have power going to the inverter but wish to know the procedure to test out put. knowing this is a high voltage (600+ volts) is there a quick check to see if its the inverter or tubes before I replace them?

Have you tried just one tube at a time first to see if it can even light one? Also make sure the molex connector is nice and snug. I know the 2 I bought had really crappy connectors and a pin would slide out a little and lose contact.

Hello,

It's highly unlikely both tubes got broken at the same time. Power the inverter from an external 12V supply and use only one tube at the time; if none of the tubes is lighting up, the inverter is gone.

No matter what, don't let the inverter without load.

The usual suspects are the high-voltage capacitors, followed by the power transistors and the controller. If the inverter is a low-end one, the output transformer can also fail.
