Hey everyone, i have recently built my first build and everything seems to be working fine except that there seems to be no video output from the graphic card, it's led lights up but when i connect the hdmi to it it doesnt work. As such I'm currently using my motherboard on board graphics with success but i'd be glad to be able to try the GTX.

When i try to install the driver from nvidia's website, it says that no nvidia device was detected.
Do you have an idea concerning the issue ?

I was asked to run a troubleshoot checklist by i7baby, here are the results :

  • Make sure you have the monitor plugged into the graphics card. Not the motherboard.
Yep, the motherboard's output is working.
Make sure your power supply (if you have one) is plugged into the gtx970.
Yep, there's two possibilities, a 4 pin and a 6 pin, i plugged it into the 6 pin.
Make sure the graphic card is locked into the pcie slot nearest the CPU.
    Yep it is.
    Make sure you get display.
I get no display, its not a black screen but the monitor can't find it.
Make sure you do a clean install of the nVidia drivers. Use the Custom Install option.
    Do not have that option
    Try a different monitor cable.
    Tried with all of them
    Try a different monitor.
    no change
    try a different graphics card.
Do not have access to it
