require suggestion for processor for virutal machines & memory intensive applications

Hello,

I want to build pc for my work of virtualization i will be running 5-6 vm's at a time & also some memory intensive applications.
I am confused between 2 Processor:-
1. Intel i7 4790
2. AMD FX 8350

kindly suggest which will be best for vms & memory intensive applications.
If there is any other processer than also suggest.
Urgent help required.

Personally based on the two you listed, I would go for the i7-4790K since it is the fastest i7 and you can overclock it if needed.


depending on the OS you are going to use, you might want to consider one of these setups:

ASUS Sabertooth X79 or EVGA X79 Dark both take max 64GB RAM
i7-4820K
CPU-Fan

OR

ASRock X99 Extreme4 LGA 2011-v3 takes max 128GB RAM
i7-5820K
CPU fan

I am not making the server at home .
I will be buying 16 gigs of RAM for better performance.
I am confused because i7 beat amd in any situation and also low tdp but amd cost half of i7.
So kindly suggest which should I opt for?
