A few day ago my screens started going on standby after the windows logo.
I reinstalled the drivers using safe mode where everything is working fine.
I convinced myself the 3d card is broken so I swapped in a gtx 960. Unfortunately the problem is still there. I swapped the card the second PCI/e but no luck.
I am now running windows repair hoping that will fix it. Next step would be reinstall of windows 7
Has anyone had any similar issues where it is not appparant to be a driver issue? Could the motherboard be toast?
Setup
Windows 7 64 bit
Asrock 870 extreme 3
Amd x6 phenom ii 1090t
Sapphire 6850. Swapped for Asus gtx 960
Be quiet 530 watt L7
Kingston 4 x 2gb
