Just bought a GTX970 and my old psu is 800 watts but only 30 amps on the 12v rail. I've got a newer and more capable psu on the way, because the 970 requirements say you need more than that.

My question is will it be safe to play games until the new psu gets here?

edit: looks like there's two 12v rails with 30amps each, do i add this up? i'm assuming these are the two PCI connectors that I have plugged into the card?

A normal GTX970 needs only 225w by itself.
You are good, assuming your psu is of decent quality.

The amps of two rails can not normally be added to give 60a, but something less.
The data plate on the psu should give the combined amps or wars for 12v.

Exactly what make/model psu do you have?
