Different types of RAM

Hi,
I currently run an FX-6300 with a Gigabyte 78-LMT USB3 motherboard with 8gb of Corsair Vengeance RAM (2x4gb). After my exams I am going to upgrade to a 4690k and a new motherboard with more RAM. Will I need to get more Corsair Vengeance or can I use any type? I will be looking to have 4x4 sticks in total.

If planning on 16GB, look to a 2x8GB set, less stress on the MC than a 4x4GB. Also if set on 4x4GB - look for a single package of 4x4GB, there is no guarantee your current 2x4GB will play with another set of 2x4GB - even if it's the same exact model of DRAM
