Farcry 4 Aim Assist not working

can any one tell me how fix the aim assist on farcry 4
i am using an xbox controller and the aim assist is turned on
but it doesn't work i tried turning it off and on
i also used different controllers bit nothing is working

can any one please help me

"Anyways, I Patched Far Cry 4 to latest version and I started a New game, overwriting previous game.
That worked for me and aim assist is working properly.
You can all backup your save file and give it a try.
I hope it works.!!"
