I just recently purchased the Eurocom M5 Pro and got 1x8GB Corsair Vengeance 1866 MHz C10 RAM (CMSX16GX3M2B1866C10)

I started playing Witcher 3 and it turns out I could use a little more RAM, I max it out when playing. So I went looking for more of the same and am annoyed that it is only sold in 2x8GB kits, I only need 1 more stick and am wondering if anyone knows where I can get it? The upgrade kit will cost me about $180 CAD for 2 sticks from ramexperts, I was hoping to spend less than $100 for 1 stick.

Or I know I can get the (CMSX8GX3M2B1866C10) 2x4GB kit and am wondering if that is another solution? I could put the 8GB in slot 1 and 4GB sticks in 2 and 4. But will I still retain the dual channel memory? Or will it only dual for the 4GB sticks and stay single for the 8GB? I can get this for about $90 CAD from canadacomputers.

Thanks for the help, first time attempting to upgrade RAM so be gentle :)

$90? On an unrelated note, That's kinda pricey. 16gb kits are on sale constantly for $119-129 in Canada and I'm seeing 8gb kits go below $60-70. I just got my 1600 16gb overclockable ram for 99$ just last week from new egg

Well I am looking for the corsair vengeance ram. It's also DDR3L for laptops (204-pin). Which ram did you get? If there is 16gb of quality ram (better benchmarks than the corsair vengeance 1866 cl10) then let me know!

Ahh laptops. I just assumed desktop because of the 4 slots without bothering to look up the model numbers heh- so my sticks would be irrelevant. That being said, I always use pcpartpicker (Canadian version) as a guide so it might help you (and also give you best prices from the popular retailers)
