so i need a computer that will excel at crypto currency mining, high quality media editing, mass multitasking, ultra settings on current and future games (while recording and/or streaming) and tasking programs with Python and Alice.

if you are already going balls-out, why not take gtx 980, or while we are at it, isnt AMD better at mining than nvidia? take 290x or wait a little for 390. Also, I recommend fractal kelvin s36 to cool CPU and fractal define S for pc case

well, mostly the price to performance issue, id rather get one gtx970 (or possibly 2, i am considering SLI) and AMD is better at crypto currency mining but the power consumption kind of negates that, nvidia just has that leg up on AMD with the whole efficiency thing. also i have a maximum budget of about 3500 but id like to keep it below 3000. NVIDIA also gives more benefits for using the GPU as a processing unit for college for things like simulations. My over all goal is to be able to play 1080p ultra settings. thats about the same amount of power for all the other applications ill be doing

pro mining isn't my priority, would just be nice to have my pc mining in the background when I'm not doing much else with it or when I'm not using it for anything at all.
