Hey guys,
I have dillema. I was going to upgrade my PC - or build a new one. I have chosen fx.8350, some other parts and probably r9 280 GPU. Recently I learned that AMD are going to make another FX series next year with mobos supporting PCI-E gen 3 and so on..Now I have The question is: Should I build the PC now with 3 year old fx 8350 , or stick with i5 2300 which I have right now and get powerful GPU (I thought GTX 970) for next year upgrade (right now I have gtx 460 768mb and is not enough). I will be grateful for any question and answer.

I'd probably stick with what you have since you already have an i5. Upgrade the gpu and save your money for newer platforms coming out later this year. Amd will be coming out with zen in 2016 sometime, intel's skylake will be out later part of this year. Zen may be an improvement over current fx chips but I don't see it outperforming intel's cpu's. For that matter there are supposed to be new gpu's coming out from both amd and nvidia soon as well. I'd wait and see how they perform, if nothing else newer gpu's may drop the price of current ones.

Honestly I Think that amd 8 core is good if you use professional software that requires 8 core. If not, it's better if you choose a good quad-core.
It's not a amd vs intel love/hate thing. But only a software-->hardware consideration.
So maybe, if I were you, I would spend 180/200$ for a new i5 at around 3.0/3.2 ghz and surely it will last without any problems for 4/5 years and without giving you any bottleneck.

For $1000 you can get a very nice 8 logical core Haswell Xeon rig. No need to wait on AMD to catch up.
