I am currently having an issue with the setup of my new system. I transitioned from an AMD build to the Intel build. Using an i5-4690k and the MSI z97-g45 gaming mobo. I am currently doing a clean install of W7 on my pc. I went through the process of doing this and was soon after getting a message after reboot saying to select drive to boot windows 7 from. So I went into my bios and went to the peripheral sata to see what the settings were at. I would select all satas @ enabled and would reboot and get the same message. I am not sure what the proper setup is. I have been looking and cannot get it figured out. If someone could just lightly explain from the beginning on what to do that would be great. Do I need to have certain peripherals assigned to 1 of the 6 sata ports on my mobo? or does it matter how they are hooked up?

Did you re-install Windows with other drives disconnected? If not then you've probably installed a boot partition on the other drive. Delete it in Disk Management.

i normally install windows with only the intended drive connected. this prevent these weird kind of issues. disconnect all the sats drives except for the one you want windows on and give it another shot. then plug the other ones in after windows in running.

always worked for me this way.

good luck

Alright, thank you both for the quick responses, I will do this right now and let you know how it goes and if I have any further problems, which I hope will not be the case.

Thank you
