Hey there. Looking to upgrade my linux home server that has maxed out the available sata connections on my motherboard - and was hoping for advice on a good SATA card to add a few ports to the machine. It needs to be full speed (so full PCI I assume instead of pci-e) and add at least 4 sata II-III ports. There is a few cheap ones out there (25-50$) but they
so I was wary of picking those up. Any suggestions for a good raid card that I could run in JBOD ? Or a pure SATA controller that would let me add 4-6x SATA II-III drives into the mix ? My budget is 100-200USD. Thank you.utilizes the Sil3114 chipset infamous for RANDOM DATA CORRUPTION. It's a hardware problem and was never fixed in driver updates.
