I'm just mainly sharing my story, and looking for a confirmation I am SOL.

My 8 port Trendnet Green Switch is/was plugged into a UPS along w/ router/modem/other equipment. Lightning strikes, and only my switch is dead, everything else is still up and running. Turns out, the Ethernet port on my router from the switch is also fried.

I've already rebooted router and restored to factory settings, and it is still dead. Any other options I might have missed?

Probably not. My experience with lightening strikes that travel over Ethernet cables usually kill switches, adapters, and often routers. In all of those cases all the related computers were on UPSs and were fine. Sometimes it is only the specific port connected to the affected cable and sometimes it is the whole device, depends on the energy carried through the wire I suppose.

A few weeks ago I had a hit to my gate controller, it fried the motherboard and traveled over twisted pair to kill another small bypass board on the entry pad. :(
