Like the subject, Is running my GPU at a constant 65d Celsius bad for it. I understand its maximum temp is much higher, I just don't want to hurt anything long term by running 144hz on 1440p.

Solution
Those temps are completly fine. Quite good thinking about how fast the Titan X is. For the Issues you've been having:

- Have you upgraded to the latest drivers (not beta)?

I'm thinking It could be a general issue as it's a very new card and the programs aren't giving you the functionality.

I wouldn't think so. The stock cooler on the Titan X isn't that great and it is a very powerful GPU. I wouldn't worry. :)

Honestly don't' worry about it. High end GPU like the Titan X in general run little hotter than your average GPU but having said that, all depends how hot your environment is (Like bed room). How good is the case for airflow, your case fans, and does your case get really dusty? I'm guessing your saying tho it runs 65 degress C just running normal applications? (youtube etc) even then, in my opinion I wouldn't fully worry about it. Yes it's best normally having GPU for doing noting like youtube, should run around 40-50 but again, lots variables it could be. My room is nice a cool, even during summer time, and they are running at 35 but again different GPU and we have different rigs etc etc. I'm sure some people will say different but in my opinion, it's fine the way it is, I have my GPU through the years running around that temp and it's going still after 5 years.

Just need more info, like GPU load, fan speeds but also best to know your rig specs. More info the better.

Basic Solutions:

-Have A Fan In Your Room/Environment To Keep It Cool.
-Dusting Out Your PC
-Lower Your GPU Settins A Bit.
-Get Better Fans Or Add Few Case Fans.
-Lower The Resolution.
-Keep Cables Tidy In Your Case, To Maximize Airflow.
-Turn Up Fan Speeds

thanks for the responses, the load temps were maxed at 83degrees Celsius. Which I hear is quite usual for the titan x. It hits max temp really fast, but won't break it. It is the same result, regardless of what resolution and refresh rate Im running on windows. In regards to the max temp.

The only reason I care, there are a few games without a refresh rate setting built into it and run using windows application setting. (batman Arkham City, Pillars of eternity ) a couple I noticed. Batman does not display a refresh rate anywhere in the settings and pillars maxes the refresh rate at the rate I have set for windows. If I increase it, in windows, the game gives me a option of increasing it. As opposed to games like bf4 where I choose the applications refresh rate of 144hz regardless if windows is running on 60hz BF4 will run at 144hz.

i73930k
h100i corsair cooler
rampage 4 extreme
windows 7
16gb ram

Room temp is about 70d Fahrenheit, I keep my PC very clean and dust free.

My 4 case fans are setup so the back and top exhaust air and the front pulls in air. My fan speeds are set to default in the corsair link program. All my other components stay cool. CPu in mid twenties to low 30s, along with everything else.

I have the latest NVidia drivers, as of May 17th. Im thinking since 144hz is a newer technology and same with the titan x, its just how it is now.
thanks for the responses. great people on here.

No problem! Happy to help.

Have a great day / evening.

thanks Sam and to the others who offered an opinion. Dropping the refresh rate to 120hz reduced the titan X temp to lower 30's so like you said Sam, its nothing to mind just something to notice, if you're like me.
thanks
