Is it possible to use different sized RAM in quad channel

I currently have an ASRock X99 Extreme4 motherboard with a Crucial DDR4-2133 2x4GB kit and a Crucial DDR4-2133 2x8GB kit. They are set up in dual channel, with 12GB per channel. Would it work, however, to set them up in quad channel, with each stick on its own channel?

It will work, but it's better to do the RAM DIMMs in the same configuration (DIMM size). In a 4-channel configuration, the DIMMs work together, so it doesn't matter what size they are or even what speed they are (2133, 1600, 1866 MHz). They will default to the slowest MHz DIMM in the configuration and still work just like in networking- the network will only run as fast as the slowest piece of hardware (if there's a gigabit modem but a megabit switch or router, it will run at that speed).

If they play together ansd sounds like they do ;), try them in the correct slots for quad, they might work in flex mode, so effectively you'll have 8GB in quad channel and the remaining 4GB in dual - CPU-Z show as quad in the memory tab, but it will be a combination as explained
