Hi there,

I've recently upgraded to a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB and ran Samsung Magician (Was reluctant as I don't often like their software)

Did a fresh install of Windows 7 64bit in AHCI mode with no restore and all approriate updated drivers/bios/winupdates installed.

Enthused at my new purchase, I ran a benchmark within the Samsung program, and also on ATTO Benchmark, prior to enabling 'RAPID' Mode and it was on par with what the specifications had advised, Samsung magician was happy with all my settings to start with, we were getting along fine:

540MB/s+ Sequential Read
510MB/s+ Sequential Write
95000+ Random Read IOPS
85000+ Random Write

AHCI Mode: Activated
SATA Interface: 6GB/s SATA3
OS Optimization: Maximum Performance

... and then I enabled 'RAPID' mode, rebooted as required and went back to my benchmarking programs..

Samsung Magician AND ATTO Benchmark* are reporting:
4900MB/s+ Sequential Read
4599MB/s+ Sequential Write
1750000+ Random Read IOPS
1400000+ Random Write

*(Plus a few other bench-markers as I was concerned it was the programs)

Despite the benchmark results proclaiming this as the fastest SSD in the world (I assume, and am very aware they can't be correct) Samsung Magicians settings have changed themselves to this:

AHCI Mode: Activated
Sata Interface: 'SATA 6 Gb/s (SATA3) Not Available' Followed by 'Your SSD will not deliver it's maximum performance because your system does not support a SATA6 Gb/s (SATA3) port. Your SSD is connected with SATA 3Gb/s (SATA2) port.'
OS Optimization: Maximum Performance

NOTHING was changed physically, emotionally, or settings-wise between the two benchmarks apart from enabling 'RAPID' mode.

My Issue is I have no idea how the SSD is actually performing since all benchmarking programs (I've tried 5 now) Keep reporting these ludicrous scores. System is flying along as it should be but I'm just really miffed at what's going on.

My Build:
i5 750 @ 4.0GHz
ASUS P7P55D-E PRO (SSD CONNECTED TO SPECIFIC GREY SATA 6GB/S PORTS)
16GB DDR3 H2O @ 2200MHz
ASUS HD7850 1100Hz Core 5800Hz GDDR5
Samsung EVO 850 250GB SSD (Apparently the fastest one ever)

Installed Memory Controllers:
JMicron JMB36X Controller
Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller
+ Intels Rapid Storage but none of those ports are being used.

Tried to be as thorough as possible so excuse the long question.

Any help is greatly appreciated, Cheers :)

Same here man, it has to be some kinda bugg in de magician software, even de firmware update this week doesnt change it, only working solution for now is dissable rapid mode and restart your pc with sudden Power off :( You Will see that 6gb sata Will be enabled again and turns blue
