I vote second one as well, the 4gb version is a waste of money. the 4gb version won't push resolutions and/or settings to use 4gb, and where I am a 290 is close to a 960 4gb in price and will run the games mentioned much, much better.

Its already been proven that the 4gb version can use the 4gb of vram, and also makes a much smoother experience in terms of frame times/

Look at Thief for example:

With new games, I can see the benefit of having 4gb making a much nicer experience when many games even at 1080p can use more than 2gb. Also if you ever plan to SLI, the 4gb versions make even more sense.

How much more is the 280X? If you're paying an extra 50-100USD it isn't worth the money, as it only performs 10% better than the 960.

If it's only 20USD more it should be a good purchase, otherwise stick with the PalIT 4G 960.

I have had a chance to look at the review, from what I see I'm still not convinced the 4gb is worth it or needed, the only issue they had was with thief, they said at one part it didn't stutter as bad but still stuttered, and go on to say it's the games engine.

Everyother game I can see run just as well with the 2gb, and really who is going to buy a 960 to game at 1440p, unless you sli than yes 2 4gb models would be needed.
