I am going to get an Intel Core i5 CPU for my new gaming PC, but there are a few different ones and I don't know what to get. I will not be over clocking, so getting a "k" version wouldn't be needed. I was thinking of getting one of these, if someone could tell me which one I should get, it would help me out a lot.

4460
4430
4670
4440
4590
4570
4690

The 4690 is the most expensive and the 4440 is the least by about $45 right now. Is it worth spending extra for a higher i5, or would there be no major difference in gaming performance? I plan to pair the i5 with the MSI or Asus GTX 970. Thanks to anyone who can help me out!

Also, if it helps, I am not going to be over clocking any other parts list the GPU or CPU, everything will be at stock speeds and I am only getting one GPU, no SLI or Crossfire.

Solution
The i5 4590 would be the max you'd need. If you have extra money in your budget then go for the I5-4590, but if not then go with 4460 if your on a stricter budget.

ok thanks a lot! I did a comparison on the 4590 vs the 4690 and the benchmark says the 4690 is noticeably better than the 4590 for running the latest games, here's the full benchmark: http://www.game-debate.com/cpu/index.php?pid=2075&pid2=2074&compare=core-i5-4590-3-3ghz-vs-core-i5-4690-3-5ghz and comparing the 4460 to the 4690 it says the performance is massively better than the 4460, full benchmark here: http://www.game-debate.com/cpu/index.php?pid=2076&pid2=2074&compare=core-i5-4460-3-2ghz-vs-core-i5-4690-3-5ghz honestly, it depends on how much money I have when I am buying the parts, if my budget is tight like you said, I will just get the 4460, if I have enough, I will try to go for the 4590 or 4690, I can always upgrade in the future.

If you're going with a locked core and don't plan to overclock, I'd forget the 4690. The 4590 is cheaper and only 200mhz slower which is hardly anything. The 4690 is pretty expensive and doesn't offer anything but 200mhz for the price premium when for around $10 more you can get the 4690k. Looking at the pricing, you have the following (in usd) at the moment.

4460 - $177
4590 - $190. $12 more for an extra 100mhz base and 300mhz turbo.
4690 - $219. $30 more than the 4590 for an extra 200mhz base and turbo.
4690k - $230, $10 more than the 4690 and can be overclocked anywhere from 500mhz to 1ghz over base speeds.

It puts the locked 4690 in a really bad position in terms of value, a price premium without the beneficial gains other cpu models provide for a mere $10-12 difference from one another.

I don't use or trust game debate at all. They only go by specs, not benchmarks.

Look for i5 4590 vs 4690 benchmarks.
