How can I move my Windows 8 to SSD and use it as primary hard disk?

I have windows 8.1 on my Lenovo Z50 and I recently swapped my optical drive with 250GB SSD. I have my windows on HDD.

1) How can I move my OS to SSD? I tried mirroring my HDD to my SSD, does it mean I have the OS on my SSD too?

2) How can I use it as a primary hard disk? I tried to change it in my BIOS but I couldn't find the option to change the primary boot up drive.

There are several ways to perform this swap of the drives. However, if you have the Windows installation media, it's highly recommended to perform a clean install of the OS. Just keep in mind that if you decide to go with this option, you have to unplug the HDD from the system and leave just the SSD connected until the installation is finished.
If you don't have it, you can clone/migrate the HDD to the SSD. There is a number of third-party utilities that can help you with that process.
