GTX 780 sli vs single GTX 980

im planning on upgrading from a single Gigabyte GTX 780 (type here): http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4673#ov

and buy a second GTX 780.

should I buy a single GTX 980 or a second GTX 780?

Assuming that you're happy to spend the money, I'd get a single GTX 980. You need a beefy PSU to SLI a GTX 780 and you also need to consider other issues, such as driver support, motherboard suitability and air flow.

if i were you i'd definitely get the 980 Ti instead of the 980. Sell your current 780 and save a bit more for the 980 Ti, it will handle smoothly on 1440p
