Looking for best value SSD and HDD (Australia)

My storage drive is dying and my boot drive is old and small. I've looked at this guide but I'm hesitant to order from somewhere like Amazon, since I'm in Australia. I imagine any warranty/replacement issues are going to be more complicated and I'll probably end up spending a lot on postage.

A 256GB SSD is what I want for my OS drive and probably 2TB for storage.

Not sure where to purchase other than from PC Case Gear or MSY. MSY is a good option because I can pick up the items and save on postage. Is the SSD recommendation guide still relevant in Australia? There are a lot of cheaper options than the cheapest in that guide, and only some seem crappy.

Thanks in advance for any responses!

Side note: I've tried multiple browsers now and no matter what I do the 'Maximize your chances of being answered. Please write-correctly...(etc)' popup won't stop coming up and blocking the edit window. What's going on there?

I recommend Samsung SSD's. Samsung is the only SSD manufacturer that produces every part of an SSD in-house. And they just keep working. I have a Samsung 840 EVO 1TB SSD in this system, and I have been so confident of its ability to protect my data, that it is the only storage device in this machine, which I built a year ago.

As for hard drives, I like 3 brands, due to their extremely low failure rates. Toshiba, HGST and Western Digital. Sometimes these cost just a little bit more, but its well worth the extra few dollars in my opinion.

Having a storage device, any of them, fail on you, really, really hurts. So I am very selective about what I like when it comes to them. Yes, no company can claim 0% failure rates. But these 4 brands that I listed are the best in the industry.

Id get this SSD http://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-internal-hard-drive-ssdsc2bp240g4r5
with this HDD http://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/western-digital-internal-hard-drive-wd2003fzex

Ive been running WD drives since I can remember with only a few failures, mostly old age. And running intel drives for about 8 years now with no failures at all. the original 2 80GB drives I first bought are still running as good as the first day I bought them. They have had multiple OS installs and have been in multiple builds.

That HDD is what I'm looking at, however a lot of reviews mention that it's quite loud. I've currently got an old WD Green which I find fairly loud and I'd prefer not to make my computer louder still.

Which one? I can only find the HGST NAS drives in Australia, so I'm thinking the WD Black is the best (only?) option. The equivalent Seagate drives have enough negative reviews to make me hesitant.

Yeah, I have not been a Seagate fan since the 1980's. Some people love them. I had a lot of problems with them back in the 80s, and then when I started my company in 1992, and part of what we were doing was building custom systems for companies, and we offered them various options, and after the first year, in looking at the failure rates on the various hard drives, I removed the seagate drives from the options. And then the Blaze reports started coming out a few years ago, and those reports almost match my experience with Seagate back then, so I just never buy them anymore.
