Help Overclocking AMD FX 6300 and EVGA GTX 750 Ti SC (dual fan edition)

Hello members of Tomshardware. I need help overclocking both my cpu and gpu.

I have an Asrock 960GM-VGS3 FX motherboard, a AMD FX 6300 Black Edition CPU (Stock Cooler) and a EVGA GTX 750 Ti SC (dual fan edition, bought durng my stay in USA at BestBuy).

My questions are:
-Can I OC both the CPU and GPU mentioned?
-If so, how far should i OC the CPU with stock cooler?
-How much should I OC the GPU?
-Could anyone teach me how to OC both safely?

Thank you very much for the help! I'm still kind of new to the PC building world, as this is my first build. Thanks again for the help.

1. It's possible, but not by the same methods. CPU overclocking is usually done in the BIOS (although there are some 'software' methods). GPU overclocking is done by software; MSI Afterburner is a good program that works with just about any GPU.

2. Not very far at all. The stock coolers for both AMD & Intel are just that: for stock speeds. If you want to OC the CPU, you need to replace the cooler with something else. There are plenty of inexpensive aftermarket air coolers that will allow for fairly significant OC levels.

3. That is going to be extremely dependent on the motherboard & the CPU. Don't really OC myself, but that sounds like a slightly older board, so I don't know how much of an OC it can take. Basically...

Basically, though, you want to push the core clocks as high as they will go while remaining stable (i.e. no BSoDs), then experiment with upping the voltage to help maintain the stability.

Thanks for the answer!

Do you know any specific numbers for the OS of the cpu w/ stock cooler? I've seen people saying they can get the fx OC up to 4 GHz without problems nor risks.
Also, as I live in Argentina, the prices are *13 (E.G: A 100$ CPU would cost 1300 pesos). Also, while doing the method you told me to OC the GPU, is there any risk of burning it during the process? Like burnng the GPU while doing the OC. Thank You! :D
