Hello,

I recently purchased an additional pair of Corsair Vengeance 4GB cards to go along with the two already in place. Problem I am having is that with the two new cards installed, the computer will not post. Initially it gave a 2E code on the diode (Which simply is identified as memory initialization), now however it hangs on the 38 code which is Post-Memory System Agent initialization started. The computer will not power down unless forced to currently, and when it is powered back up with the 4 RAM slots occupied it will turn on, fail to post, shut down and restart, then hang without post.

I have tried these cards in a1/a2 alone and booted, computer worked fine, read as 8GB installed. It seems only when slot b2 is occupied that this happens, but I am not certain now if it is a failed RAM slot or something else.

Edit: RAM product version differs as well. Old RAM is v2.12 and new is 5.21 if this is relevant.

Yes it does. Going to try with the two new ones.

Yeah, all 4 cards POST when in B2. So, seems the slot is working fine after all. As well as the RAM.

...?

UPDATE:

Computer will not POST when any card inserted into B1 now; Upon startup onboard speaker will sound "beep-pause-beepbeep" and repeat, with diode code 53 (Memory Initialization Error. Invalid memory type or incompatible memory speed). Initial configuration, however, was a1/b1 for the 2x4GB cards.

Computer also will not read RAM card inserted into B1 slot now.

Alright, I do not see any contacts that appear damaged and the CPU cooler is one simply that has tabs which are depressed and lock in place thus no screws to tighten. I admit I may be missing something however in looking at the contacts on the motherboard...

Reinstalled CPU, cooler. CPU fan fyi is just tabs that push in, no screws. Anyway, with only one module in b1 does not boot still. Gives beep -pause- beepbeep repeating.

It has been blown out and yes it does boot in all slots except B1 now. However, before this post was created it booted on B1. The only steps taken were those listed already here. :/
