So I picked up a SB Recon 3D PCI-E for a good price off craigslist and it works great with my PC, but I'm having trouble using it to hear sound coming from my PS3. The card has both optical-in and -out jacks and the PS3 supports audio through optical-out. So I picked up an optical cable and tried connecting the PS3 to the sound card's optical-in but I'm getting no sound at all. I even followed the instructions in this article (which seems to have been made specifically to address the issue):

But still no dice. No sound and the Digital-in volume bar isn't moving even if my PS3 is outputting noise. I'm out of ideas on this one guys, maybe you have some? Thanks in advance.

Yes, you have to enable Optical-Out on the PS3. I made sure to do that, of course. It doesn't even give you the option to select PCM/etc. audio (as seen in the screenshot in the link I gave) unless you set it to HDMI or Optical.
