My External Hard Drive is making a Buzzing sound.

My ex. wd hdd is not making a clicking sound but more like a buzzing sound. It will do it for 6 times and thn stop. The liught still comes on and I already tried another cable. The drive doesnt even come up in Device Manager.
 
Solution
Sometimes the usual clicking of the rw head vibrates through the case making it into a buzz. Either way, you got a problem.

If this is a retail external (not put together by you) ur looking for a RMA.

Oh, it doesn't hurt to plug in external power if it came with one.

Yeah it doesnt have any other ports for any other cable. I doubt I can get a RMA since it was given to me for free from my moms friend in the IT department of her work. He gave it to me brand new, it was a really nice drive but oh well honestly. It was free it lasted ehh quite a while for a ex drive. Is there a certain procedure I should follow to dispose of it? Is it recyclable, is there a place I can take it to that will get rid of it properly?

The buzzing sound might be an indication of internal/physical damage on it and, unfortunately, this is something you won't be able to fix by yourself.
