Not really. If you want speed then you'll have to opt for for an SSD. I have a 10K RPM Velociraptor connected to a SATA3 port and I honestly can't tell much of a difference from my 3TB harddrive connected to a SATA2 port on my motherboard.
If you were thinking of spending money for speed... it would be waste with mechanical hard drives. Spend it instead on SSD's if you want or need speed.. and keep what you currently have.

HD, not matter how fast, what highway you them on, are still cars. SSD, now we are talking airplanes.
Now, a 1TB SSD is still kinda pricey, so you may wanna go halfsy, SSD for OS and Apps, HD for the rest, is a perfectly respectable way to go.
