Computer and video card heat up when playing games

I am running the game on a gigabyte gtx 970 windforce. It has 3 fans built on the card. I play all high settings and in about half an hour I realize my computer is getting really hot. I think the heat is coming from the video card. How do I control the fans inside of the card? Do I need to get my self a cooling device that is more complex than a regular fan?

You should monitor your temperature while gaming.

Usually temperatures like 85+ Celcius are still acceptable for graphics card and wont neccesary be "over heating".

When you start to go over 90+ Celcius you should really consider upgrading your cooling and airflow of the case.

You are gonna need to post your full build to get any real help, me tinks. You can manually adjust fans with MSI Afterburner or a similar program. It sounds to me like that's not your only issue. What game is it?

i7 4790k,
8gb ram DDR3,
gigabyte geforce 970 wind force,
evga stinger wifi motherboard and I am playing Witcher 3. Will MSI burner work with a gigabyte video card?
