High temps and thermal paste problem

After having installed my new motherboard, I noticed the temps had gone up but didn't really do anything about it for some time. I finally decided to removed the cooler base and noticed the thermal paste was not evenly spread and was mostly missing from the middle. I reapplied the thermal paste and inserted everything back a couple of times with no luck and the temps remained the same and the thermal paste was still not spreading properly. I changed standoffs and backplate and still the same thing. I thought that maybe my H100i was malfunctioning so I went ahead and got the GTX h100i. I am still having the same problem and have absolutely no clue what is going on. I went ahead and ordered some more thermal paste but don't know if that will fix this. Any ideas what may be going on?

you should update the bios if there is one, and when its done go into the bios and check the Vcore temps. search up what the stock core temps should be for your computer, it could be a bit high. Or you can open it back up and try the spread method. Spread it until it covers the whole chip, but make sure you spread it real thin so the heat can transfer, then put back on the cooler and check. I had the same problem doing the normal method and pressing my heatsink against the chip to let it spread but my temps would reach 70C which was hell for me, until i did the spread method. Now it wont go over 55C underload.

I noticed a increase when i closed the back lid but that may have not been the cause but I will observe again.

i have always used the spread method but I tried the method where you just put the drop in the middle and let is spread on its own and the temps are better than when i used the spread method but they are still high.

the bios are up to date and the vcore is not the problem since I have had it at this ever since before the problem started
