Hey guys!!
I was a console player until i moved over to my laptop in order to play with my mates (league of legends, g-mod and other stuff). As of recent i started recording videos of us and started uploading. So now I've made the decision to splash some cash on a desktop and build it myself. The only trouble is choosing parts which i want and maintaining a budget of $1000-$1400. Just looking for any improvements (main purpose for this computer is gaming and editing/rendering/uploading videos) Here is my current build on pccasegear.com:

Mouse
Razer Naga Hex Laser Gaming Mouse - $79.00
Keyboard
Gigabyte Force K7 Gaming Keyboard - $49.00
SSHD
Seagate ST2000DX001 Desktop SSHD 2TB - $139.00
CPU
Intel Core i5 4460 - $246.00

RAM
Kingston HyperX Beast HX324C11T3K2/8 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 - $99.00
GPU
ASUS GeForce GTX 960 Strix DirectCU II OC 2GB - $299.00
MOBO
Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H Motherboard - $249.00
Optical Drive

This is my first time posing anything so any replies are warmly welcomed. Please also keep in mind my computing jargon isn't that great so dumb it down if you can ^.^

This build is better for editing since it has a hyperthreaded CPU. Note that I edited the above build to cut back on the SSD to make room for the Xeon CPU. Only 120 GB is needed for a Windows boot drive. The Xeon is basically a locked i7 without the integrated graphics.

If you are going to use a locked processor, switch out the motherboard for something cheaper and more suitable for a locked CPU. Then you could put that saing into a locked i7 for your editing.

Now that I think of it, you should use a Xeon E3 instead of a locked i7. The Xeon E3 1245 v3 (I'm pretty sure) is like a locked i7 and has some benefits to someone who won't overclock. Same pricing. For motherboard, any H97 board that fits into your price range will be fine.
