Right, so I am looking for a PC for around £450 that I can use for gaming and school work, I'm leaning towards the JackFrags build http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/JdsNxr

I will build this PC myself as I have done before (and enjoy the satisfaction when it works!) However, if you know of another build for the same sort of budget that is better please suggest it!

Thanks :)

The FX 6300 is a good CPU, but it really needs to be overclocked to compete with their intel counterparts. I would suggest in either making some adjustments on that build to overclock it, or to go with an i3 based build, this for example:

+1; This is a great build for a little over 450 quids that will handle anything you throw at it!

He's gonna need an OS though.

This can still run most games at very acceptable levels, and won't have any problems with any schoolwork you might do:

Look at the build he originally suggested, it doesn't have an OS and it is at the budget. Therefore he already has an OS, or his budget is actually 550 and he accounted for that already.

His original build isn't his build though. He may not realize he needs an OS.

Yeah I have already accounted for an OS
