Hey all,

I'm looking into getting and SSD and to be honest, I'm lacking specific knowledge in the department. I know a good go-to drive is the Samsung 850 EVO, but I want to know about some other options. I'm looking to get a drive that's around 120GB. When giving a recommendation, please tell me why a certain SSD is better than another.

My main uses are the following, no particular order. Gaming, programming, web-browsing (I normally have around 8 or so tabs open), other normal computery things.

I plan on installing my OS, chrome, MS Office, and I'll swap the games that I'm playing on and off as I complete them.

Thanks all for the input.

Companies that make their own NAND and controllers have complete control of the quality and cost of manufacturing their products. Samsung does this with the EVO series SSD. Their success is self evident. Other companies aspire to be like Samsung.
