The drive is most probably failing, so you need to back up the data stored on it as soon as possible as the other guys have already suggested.
Apart from that, you can test the drive with some HDD testing tool. The results should provide a S.M.A.R.T. report which will show the overall health status of the drive.
In case the laptop is under warranty, it may be a good idea to contact the manufacturer as well.
