Having trouble installing windows to my new computer.

I just recently built my first computer. I chose a Samsung 250 GB 850 EVO for my Windows 8.1 storage. I tried several times to install but every time it told me that it was not formatted for Windows 8.1. Any ideas on how to format it properly?

When you install Windows, it ask for a drive to install to. The SSD Should just be unformmated space. If not click on the Blue words that says Advanced Options and delete ALL partitions listed so that is is all unallocated spaced and then click that so it is highlighted in blue and try installing again
