You will notice many complains, here is one with a possible fix from the Developers just read the thread.

https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/833742/geforce-drivers/the-witcher-3-crashes-inventory-sceen-and-cinematic-screens-pls-everyone-sign-this-/

Many others to read with exactly the same Issue. I will Sum it up for you, "Display Drivers" Expect a new update real soon to help solve this issue.

Delaro, stop with the "Google it" replies and sarcastic macro. If everybody "googled it", there would be no need for this or any other forum. Kudos on offering the other information though. That's what's needed, not scorn for an honest question. We've been laying the hammer down on people who can only say "Google it", just FYI, so it's good that you also offered relevant information along with it. Maybe next time just present that information and not the rest. Thanks.

I understand but I'm glad I'm not a Mod, how many times do you answer the same exact question before you get tired of doing so? The op here has a legitimate issue that hasn't been answered on Toms yet but it has countless times on other Forums including Nvidia and the Developers. It took me 17 seconds to find that there was a upcoming patch to resolve this, do you understand my point? If more people looked for a answer first it would have saved a ton of clutter unless that is what Forums are for, endless clutter of the same questions asked again and again. Regurgitate seems to be the word here because that is basically what we are doing.

Well I've searched for this countless times and i have an AMD card not Nvidia. the more I searched for the error code I recieved ( 0xc0000005 ) I found nothing to lend me any sort of help. or at least nothing useful. there have been people adding Fixes to this on other forums and no one has mentioned the error code that I have searched for.

the posts I have seen end up speaking of a memory issue but I do not have anything wrong with my ram, I have used MEMtest86 and all is good. so that post was a bust

i also used microsoft fix it and ended with the issue persisting.

others asked to tweak setting ( run in Windowed mode, unlimited framerate , change lighting to low, etc.) all ends with me continuing to get this error code. believe me when I say I have searched for a fix to this before posting and I am at my wits end here. granted i could play the game and wait for the crash just to restart my computer and continue playing although it is getting tiresome.

Chasing error codes sometimes wont lead you to the right answers, paying attention to what you are doing and what is running will help more. If the crashes happen in the same situations then looking for a answer involving that situation may lead you to answers. Most Error codes, BSOD's, Lockups and Freezes are Driver related as Hardware issues are pretty rare. Witcher 3 does not play well with AMD and your issue is Game related as both Nvidia and AMD forums are filled with the same questions. The Development team is aware of the issue and a patch will be issue within a week to fix that and many other crash related issue that currently plaque the game. Hang in there dude I'm having issue with the game as well.

If you're running Windows 7/8 then try to roll back to the GTA V driver (people claim it's the most stable).

If you're running Windows 10, then wait for a new driver version that will hopefully fix crashes related to The Witcher 3.

Oh and I assume you got version 1.04 on The Witcher 3, since earlier versions crashed in the Inventory Screen.

that is correct I have 1.04 I guess at this point since I am running Win7 I will try to go with the GTA driver and see if this helps if that fails I will wait for the patch release and hope for the best.

I understand that chasing the error codes sometimes are a dead end, most people running different hardware and operating systems though I was hoping that this could be a simple fix since sometimes the issues are unique to certain users. thanks for the info and I will keep my fingers crossed.

There are no questions that haven't been answered countless times on Tom's. If there is a particular issue, like this one, that comes up repeatedly and bothers you to answer over and over, just bookmark the thread that contains the most likely answer and post a link to that so you don't have to go through the PITA of typing it each time. I understand the frustration though. Believe me.

ok back again, rolling back the driver did not work out. Game is was crashing alot more often afterwards. went back to the 15.5 beta driver for the Witcher 3 and still getting the inventory crash although i can play for over 15 minutes without the crash this way. I'll just have to wait for the Patch release i guess.

thank you for your help everyone

The Dev forum is the best place to ask about Crashes related to that game. That patch fixed my issue but it's not the only one we are getting from what I can tell. There are many smaller ones as well as Nvidia and AMD updating Drivers to optimize the game further.

Did you download from Steam? If so read here.

#14 The Witcher 3 BEX64 Error Fix
The error could very well be due to your antivirus/firewall blocking the game. Try disabling and see if the problem is resolved. If not, you can try deleting your save files in the documents folder (make a backup if you are not using cloud save) and try running the game again.

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2425510/bex64-error-crash.html

Like I said before this game has a amazing amount of issues and they are addressing them in small numbers at a time. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Doesn't matter if it's steam version or GoG, still the same game. As delaro said, it might be related to your antivirus program blocking the application, can you at least try to uninstall it and try the game then (temporarily stopping the software doesn't stop all services)?
