Ok, i live in a student dormitory, and im connected to the internet with lan cable.

I want to play red alert 2 with my roomate, but it seams that we need to forward our ports in order to connect to eachother on server. I've downloaded program called Simple Port Forwarding, and it asks me for my router ip adress.
I've tried to go to run->ipconfig /all -> paste default gateway ip adress to chrome, but it wont open. so i dont know the model of router.
Can anyone help me with it?

Tnx

You'd have to find the router's admin page. Most of the time, its 192.168.2.1, but because you're attending university, they probably changed it. Maybe even MAC Filtered it so only certain NIC's can access the admin page.

Even if you get to the router' admin page, do you think it will be left open for every kid to modify it?
Your only option is to talk to the person responsible for your dorm network, but even then you would be out of luck - only one person in the whole dorm can claim a particular port.

You could have some luck with installing a VPN-capable router between your PCs and the dormitory network, then signing up for fast/reliable VPN service. But I would first make sure you are not breaking any rules regarding use of the dorm network.
