Sony vaio e series. Model SVE171E12L.

I hover the mouse over wifi symbol on bottom of laptop screen, it says "not connected -connections are available". I then go to "connect to a network" for list of networks to appear but it comes up with "no connections are available", and there are no visible networks listed where they usually are.

I have just moved house a couple of weeks ago and it worked in my previous house but not here. But my ipad and iPhone are working with the new router, and it worked before on this laptop when I have previously visited this address. When I go to "set up a new connection" it already knows the router. I go to troubleshoot and it can think of nothing. I've checked that the wifi is turned on on the laptop and it is. I've checked network & sharing settings, but all seems normal and nothing has changed except me moving house.

I've tried turning laptop on and off. And the router too. I've checked and it says drivers are up to date and network device is working correctly, but with no internet I can't update drivers anyway.

Help please!!
