I really like the looks of the HX1000i (and it is 80 PLUS Platinum) and the Corsair Link thing, but I just wanted to see what the community had to say. The EVGA is an 80 PLUS Gold, so that means the HX1000i is more efficient, but what about build quality, components (capacitors, etc)? Which one of those is better? If both of them are not good, then which one would be a nice good PSU?
My Future Rig:
Motherboard: ASUS M5A99FX Pro R.20
CPU: AMD FX-8370 (Want to overclock to at least 4.5)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO (Push-Pull)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8) 1600Mhz
GPU: Sapphire Dual-X R9 280X (x1)
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM
Fan Controller: NZXT Sentry 3
Fans: 1x Corsair AF120 (White LED) 4x Corsair AF140 (White LED)
Case: Corsair Carbide 330R
Blu-Ray Drive: Pioneer BDR-209DBK
Wi-Fi: ASUS PCE-AC68
According to some PSU calculators, i'll be fine with an 850w PSU but I want it to have space to grow (say, I add more HDDs or another GPU, besides, who doesn't like that extra power available )
BTW: My budget for a PSU would be MAX $180 (maybe $200) (but if it is too low, tell me, I dont want to cheap out on the PSU and have it fail and fry something else too....
