My current specification
gigabyte h61m d2 b3 motherboard
2+2gb ram
intel corei5 2400
500gb hdd samsung

Planning to buy
msi gtx 970
2+8 gb ram

i bought this mother board in 2011. ihave the driver cd
if i install windows 8.1 can i use that drivers of that cd
OR
do i need to download new driver for windows 8.1

Yes.... For motherboard there are more than one driver. you have to download Audio driver,Chipset driver,Lan driver and Vga driver .Go to gigabyte website and check yourself..

The old drivers should work but you should download the new ones from the site for better performance and stability.

What you can do is download the new ones first and load them on a flash drive. Then when you reinstall windows you can load them on.

i know a little about drivers so i only need to download drivers for my motherboard.
Do i need to download drivers for my processor or anything else
