mainboard and cpu compatability

Does anyone know if the hp Compaq dc7600 small form factor mainboard which according to Sandra is model 09F8h and has an intel express 945g chipset, support core 2 duo cpu's.
Ark at intel say this chipset supports up to e6700 but I've tried two now with no success. Its true that both came from ebay but both dead?????
Any real knowledge would be very much appreciated. Cheers, Ron.

There is no Bios to support a Exxx or Qxxx chip for this model because it does not support 1066 MHz FSB.

CPU Bus Speed Supported 533 MHz, 800 MHz (Processors with a 1 GHz FSB are not currently offered on these models)

It is possible to modify a Bios and flash it for support since the dc7700 uses the same motherboard and does support Exxx series chips but you would know exactly how to do so or you will end up with a big Doorstop.
