I building my new system and I want the SSD for my boot drive, a 1TB HDD (new, no data) for storage, and another 500 GB that i want to bring over from my old computer. So my question is how to keep all the files in my old hard drive and configure the two HDDs to be my storage drive. Thanks.

P/S: do i have to install OS in the HDD as well ? or can i just plug them in and go to computer management to make it show up?

Solution
Yes, it is. You might want to leave only the SSD connected during install, so the installation will not detect the old windows install and try to keep it's drive letters or do something else you don't want. After installation is complete, connect it back and make sure you PC boots only from the SSD, usually this can be set in the BIOS. You can then delete your old windows installation and free up that space.

i'm ok with the new HDD, but the old one already have win 7 HP installed on it, so it's alright to just install new win 7 Pro on the SSD, and leave the old HDD as it is ?
