Traveling with Zalman CNPS8900 Quiet CPU Cooler?

Hi everybody! I am considering using a Zalman CNPS8900 Quiet for my CPU cooler in a mITX shoe box build, because of it's size and good reviews. However, the product page has two warnings that say the cooler must be removed when traveling, and that Zalman isn't responsible for damage during travel. Does anybody know why it wouldn't be safe to travel with the CNPS8900 Quiet installed? I'll be traveling with my pc fairly regularly, so I don't want to be constantly installing and removing the cooler.

Note: I'll be installing it onto an mITX motherboard in the Silverstone SG13, and in this case the motherboard lies flat, parallel to the ground. So, the cooler will be sitting with it's fan aimed downwards. Maybe this would make it safer to travel with?

Solution
They just do that to remove any responsibility if the cooler decides to break off the motherboard during transport and ruining your system.

This is more likely with the bigger coolers (Noctua NH-D14, for example), but I wouldn't worry too much about a cooler the size of that Zalman.

If you're traveling via car or whatever method that allows you to safely pack and manage your own PC/baggage then you're fine. If you're flying and you're checking your bag with the computer in it, for examply, I would remove HDDs and any large aftermarket heatsinks since airline employees aren't known for their delicate handling of bags.

Ah great point. I read it as a warning that the CNPS8900 Quiet may be more prone to breaking during travel, but you're right it probably makes more sense as a general no liability clause. Thanks!

I'm also considering this the CNPS8900 in my sg13 but it looks like it'll hit the RAM, were you successful in installing this cooler into this case? can you send pictures of what it ended up looking like?

Yeah, I was only able to use this cooler with low profile RAM. Standard height RAM or taller aren't compatible with this cooler on an mITX motherboard. I like my SG13, but everything sure is a tight fit! I can load pictures of my build soon.

Cool. Oh I forgot to mention the motherboard I'm using has the RAM RIGHT next to the CPU socket, it's the ASRock X99E-ITX/ac, in an SG13 case... it's going to be super tight if even possible. The RAM i'm ordering this Friday is Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR4 2400 MT/s (PC4-19200) DIMM 288-Pin Memory BLS2K8G4D240FSA/BLS2C8G4D240FSA (yeah it's a long paste from my amazon wishlist, haha). If you coincidentally used this same motherboard too then you could tell me which RAM worked for you :)

I actually used the ASRock H97m-ITX/AC with 16GB Crucial Ballistix Sport VLP DDR3 RAM. I'm not sure about the spacing differences between your motherboard and mine, but my RAM is right outside of the CPU's safe area. The only type of cooler that would fit my board with normal sized RAM would be one with a 90MM footprint. The Sport VLP RAM tucks right under the overextending upper part of the CNPS8900 cooler.

Yeah looking at the distance between cpu & ram slots... you've got space, my mb is right on it, guess I can't use the same heatsink. The mb I got comes with a server-style heatsink but I have no idea how it'll perform for cooling :/ thanks for your help, if you still wanna post picks of your build & spacing I'd love to check them out.
