Hello, I'm looking to upgrade my gpu in the hopes of prolonging the life of my pc and was wondering what gpu i should upgrade to from a gtx 260 for light gaming. My pc components include the following.

- Intel Core 2 Quad q9400, never been overclocked
- G.SKILL 4GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ
- 1 x OCZ StealthXStream OCZ600SXS 600W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready Active PFC Power Supply.

In a perfect world I would just build a new pc but I probably wont be able to do that until next year.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

You should take the time to learn to overclock your CPU. It would help. As far as a GPU goes, I wouldn't bother with more than a GTX 750 Ti. When you get your new PC sell it and get something more appropriate.

I agree. A 960 shouldn't be a problem with those specs.

Thank you for the replies, I think i'll go with the 750 ti since i'm looking for a stop gap until i can build a new pc. I take it if i plan one overclocking the pc i would need to replace the stock fan with something like the Cooler Master - Hyper 212 EVO 120mm CPU Cooling Fan
