First Gaming PC Build. (Extreme Beginner) Opinions?

Hello all,

After submitting my first "build," I made some changes. I switched from the AMD to Intel for my CPU. I chose to just get 8GB Ram for the time being (many people told me I would not need 16GB yet). I did pick a 1 8GB ram stick thing so I am still able to max out at 32 GB Ram if ever needed.

My main uses for this PC is gaming, photoshop, and video editing (not hardcore).
I would like to play games at 1080p+ 60FPS+ at Ultra maxed out. (I will be using a 1080p 120hz TV for now).
I am hoping when I do buy a monitor (144hz) that this PC will be compatible to run at the max settings on the monitor.

Games I play are:

LoL
WoW
FFXIV
BF4
Crysis 3
Guild Wars 2
Heroes of the Storm
Tomb Raider
Skyrim
Fallout 3/4 (when 4 comes out :D)
Black Deser Online (when it comes to US >.<)
Witcher 3
Assassins Creed
and more but I think that should do

I must repeat I am new to the PC world, I used to be a console gamer not too long ago.

So with everything mentioned above, will this PC suit my needs? I don't mind spending $50 on another 8GB ram if I need to, but I would like to spend that on a better keyboard.

OOPS. here is link to build

should be rooks build v5

Also, I do not need a OS. (already have)

I would greatly appreciate any help/thoughts. Sorry if something doesnt make sense :s

Here it looks like your budget is 1000 and you will overclock. Here is my build for you. It has a better cooler but i took out 8 gigs of ram as 16 is not needed unless you are doing extreme workstation stuff. You will get a better cpu overclock which means a little bit more performance.

better motherboard, less ram replaced by SSD for your OS and Applications (youll notice more of a difference this way), and better PSU (you want the B2/G2 series from EVGA not B1/G1).

another thing you should know: TVs with "120 Hz" refresh don't actually take 120 FPS from your graphics card. they take 60 FPS and convert it to 120 Hz through motion clarity, etc. it's not like having a 120 Hz gaming monitor (trust me, i learned this the hard way).

don't get me wrong, the 120 Hz TV will provide an excellent experience, very smooth motion. it just won't sync completely with your GPU like you (and i) expected. you might get some tearing as well, but vsync usually solves the issue. a way to make use of the full power of the 970 (since you will likely produce well over 60 FPS at 1080p) is to render at a higher resolution such as 1440p and then convert it back to 1080p for better quality. its called DSR and it really works quite well. http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/dsr

nice, I am guessing judging by that link, my GTX 970 will be able to "DSR"
I just hope my TV will run at 60fps till I get a monitor :D
thanks for the info, did not know about DSR till today haha
