Trying to pick a motherboard for first build

My build will mainly be used for cad designing with the occasional game. Obviously it'd be nice if it was fast, but I won't be overclocking anything. Nor will there be crossfire. I'm not trying to break the bank on just the motherboard. I looked at the x99 chipset motherboards but I think they're too much for me at this point

Just looking for suggestions for good motherboards from firsthand experience.

Not nessecerily, I'm just more familiar with Intel as a brand. I would say my max is $250 but I can be flexible. I'd probably want to use an i7 cpu though
